For children who are 2.5 by start month
Two's Program
Parents wishing to enroll a child in the Fall Two's program may do so if the child is 2 ½ years old by September 30th. In addition, we are pleased to announce a mid-year Tues/Thurs Two's class, starting in January, for children who turn 2 and a half before the end of the month. Your child does not need to be toilet trained.
There is one lead teacher and one assistant teacher in each classroom with small class sizes.
Choose two days a week (Tuesday/Thursday) or three days a week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday).
At Bethlehem, we recognize that each child is unique and will develop at their own pace. Our well trained, caring staff guides and supports students at their individual levels while fostering natural curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning to extend well past each child’s preschool experience.
Intellectual Growth
During this first school experience, children begin to follow a routine with activities such as circle time, story time, and centers. Within this routine, they learn how to transition smoothly and happily from one activity to the next. They recognize their names and those of others. These young learners are introduced to and begin to recognize colors, numbers, shapes, and letters. Music classes are a beloved part of their weekly schedule, culminating in several school-wide performances.
Physical Development
Active children become active adults! They hone skills like running, jumping, hopping, and other coordinated movement through dance and the use of specialized equipment in our full-sized gymnasium. The children run and play outdoors in our playground at least once per day when weather permits. Fine motor ability is developed at this age by strengthening hand muscles through fingerplay and specially chosen crafts.
Social/Emotional & Spiritual
Our students gain self-confidence and a love of learning in everything that they do at BELC. Children learn Bible stories and simple prayers during their weekly Chapel visits and story time in class. At this age, they learn how to separate from their parents happily. This may take time, so we offer a gradual orientation to assist in acclimating and ensure a smooth transition. Throughout the year, children develop skills for communicating their needs and begin to play cooperatively with others.
