For children between 18-30 months
Beginnings
Children who are between 18 and 30 months old attend this class with a parent or caregiver. They are not required to be toilet trained. Choose Tuesday or Thursday, 9:15-10:45.
At Bethlehem, we recognize that each child is unique and will develop at his/her own pace. Our well trained, caring staff guides and supports the children at their individual levels while fostering natural curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning to extend well past each child’s preschool experience.
Intellectual Growth
During this first school experience with a parent or caregiver, children begin to learn to follow a routine with activities such as circle time, storytime, arts & crafts, music, movement, and fingerplay. Within this routine, they learn how to transition smoothly and happily from one activity to the next. They recognize their names and those of people close to them. These young children enjoy imitating their parents actions and practice using words to request what is wanted or needed.
Physical Development
Beginnings children are given plenty of opportunity for movement. These movement activities help them practice control of their body movements and work on gross and fine motor skills including hand-eye coordination.
Social/Emotional & Spiritual
Our students gain self-confidence and a love of learning in everything that they do at BELC. Children are guided through simple prayers to say before snack. At this age, they learn to explore new surroundings with the comfort of a familiar face nearby. They learn to show affection, play independently and cooperatively all while developing a love for school.
